Workshop on efficient public participation in the forestry management to be held in Chernihiv region of Ukraine
On 20 and 22 April, 2011, the non-commercial partnership Ā«Association of Forest Certification in UkraineĀ» and regional youth environmental organization Ā«EkospheraĀ», with support from the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine and the Institute of Forestry and Landscape Architecture, will organize two workshops in small towns of the Chernihiv region for the heads of village and town councils. This workshops will be held within the framework of the ENPI FLEG Program and will focus on the access to information and public participation in the forestry management.
The main objective of these events is to present results of the conducted surveys on evaluation of the access to information and public participation in the forestry management to local communities and forestry specialists, as well as to discuss proposals on improving respective information flow to the local communities and better public engagement in the forestry related decision-making process.
